Ten Years of Love: 2001 – 2011

heart3

We entered a time, in 2001, that is reflected in our common psyche. I remember so clearly the feeling of cocooning that grasped the nation after 9/11. Protectionism followed the shock of terrorism striking "here." We became vulnerable. We began a shift to realizing that as a nation and personally, we couldn't control everything. Even if we had enough money, which we soon realized we didn't, we couldn't solve all the world's problems. Maybe we weren't meant to...but how could we get out of it? … [Read more...]

Perfect Love

If I could do anything, I would see as God sees, and love as God loves. Just saying this out loud, and writing it on this page, I feel the longing for such an openness and loving connection welling up within my breast. But what preposterous thoughts! How could I even begin to recognize what God sees and how God loves? An ocean in a teaspoon? Such presumptuousness! Disregard hope for that freedom, that peace, that joy. God says: "Beloved, I am with you and within you. Your thoughts are My … [Read more...]

Everything and Everyone Really is Connected

I'm on the 7 a.m. Eastern Shuttle to New York from Washington, a trip I've taken countless times. Today I'm scheduled for a 10 a.m. meeting with AT&T managers at 22 Cortlandt St., across from the World Trade Center. It's mid-1979. We're at cruising altitude, and I'm in a window seat. Outside are clouds -- pleasant, white, puffy ones. It was a little chilly on the way to the airport, but the sun is out, and it should be fine as the day moves along. I'm gazing at the clouds -- not really … [Read more...]

Love revealed through the power of intention I was divorced and happily single for 13 years. I had a satisfying career, a Feng Shui practice I loved, a wonderful family and terrific group of friends. I was proud of my accomplishments and content with my life. As it turns out, Feng Shui friends had different plans for me. In their wisdom, they know romance has the potential to enhance even the most wonderful life. With gentle and loving encouragement, they prompted me to consider "calling … [Read more...]

Love Blossoming: A Past Life and My Twin Soul

I almost didn't go. I dragged my heels cleaning off my desk. I had no printed materials about the training, had put no money down, and probably wouldn't know a soul there. My friend Cynthia invited me to attend the four-day Synergy Leadership Seminar at the Christine Center in Wisconsin. We could hang out together and learn some new skills. Our full schedules made it hard to find time to connect. I was hustling work as a freelance storyteller, single parenting, and maintaining a house. She … [Read more...]

A Walk Down The Aisle…

galvin-anderson

You often hear people who have had near-death experiences talk of walking through a tunnel-like path and having a "life review" of some sort before transitioning to the next place. Despite my near-death experience occurring 16 years ago, in many ways my experience through the tunnel of life also took place this past summer on my wedding day. I knew my wedding day would be spiritually moving and symbolic in many ways, but I never would have thought the gift of perspective would appear on that … [Read more...]

Love – Integrating Duality

star_swirl

During my journey of searching for myself, who I was beyond this realm of existence, I met a companion soul. Victoria. If there are human angels, and I believe there are, Victoria is one of them. A petite pretty blonde, with passionate blue eyes and a soul vibration that reaches out to you with love and understanding. I met her at an expo and the connection was quick, easy and definite. We looked into each other's eyes and recognized each other, a soul recognition. We hugged each other and … [Read more...]

Loving and Letting Go

Love is often hidden in the details. The caring for, the looking after, the worrying about, the providing for, details of life. My revelation is that love doesn't always look like I think Love will look. Sometimes it doesn't look like love at all. Ten days ago I lost my best friend Sampson, an Australian Shepard/Chow mix after almost 17 years together. Our love had evolved from running in the woods and playing chase to his favorite pets and special snacks. Caring for my friend became my way … [Read more...]

On the Power of Love

love_couple

Love is an odd word, as it conjures up all kinds of emotions and beliefs around it. Some good, some not so good. How can something that's supposed to be so beautiful cause so much heartache and challenges for so many? People talk about it and give it a lot of lip service, but their actions don't always support their words. Everybody wants to love and be loved, but what does that really mean? What I've come to understand is that Love is not an emotion! True love, real love, is a power. A force … [Read more...]

My Love Medicine

sun_heart_hand

My life is a story of Love being revealed. Love has become my best friend and constant companion and the most transformative medicine I have ever taken. Love is the healer of all fear and wants to be utilized. I have and always will take advantage of Love's offer. Love is more to me than a good feeling, although that is what Love creates. Love is an actual energy and the essence of Spirit. Love appeared in my life many moons ago, when I felt hopeless. I had experienced one too many break ups … [Read more...]

The Message of Valentine’s Day

love_ocean

Around the globe on Valentine's Day, people of all ages share cards, gifts and flowers, expressing their caring, their love and their friendship. Heart-shaped boxes of chocolates and thousands of bright, crimson roses are exchanged at romantic dinners between beloveds. Even 5-year-old school children create and gift Valentine's Day cards to one another. All these gestures physically express our caring for one another. But, is there more? What is the energetic message conveyed by these … [Read more...]

Let’s celebrate love in its purest form

My sister Shawn loves Mickey Mouse, cats and shopping at Wal-Mart.

It's February, the month when we express our love to our Valentines with special dinners, cards adorned with hearts, chocolate and flowers. It's a time when we open our hearts. This year, I want to share with you a love of my life who seeks nothing in return for the love she freely shares with anyone...and anything. For you see, my youngest sister, Shawn, never learned that strings are attached to love. She never learned that love could be used as a tool to get what you want. And she never … [Read more...]

Love is not Approval

love_ocean

Your deepest need is to feel loved, no matter what. No conditions. Yet, too often you hear an inside voice that says, "In order to be loved, I must do things right!" You acquired this voice from the many negative messages you heard in childhood about what you did wrong. You came to conclude that you were not good enough or worthy to be loved unless you did things "right." Thus, "love" got confused with... approval! If you feel like you need outside authorization to feel important or valuable, … [Read more...]

No U in Love

Love is where you are not. It would bomb as a pick up line, but it's a concept of love worth pondering. They are the words of Jiddu Krishnamurti, a renowned spiritual teacher who traveled the world in the 20th century extolling the merits of self-inquiry. At first the statement comes across like one of those "if-a-tree-falls-in-the-woods" Zen mindbenders, but spend a few moments with it and it may dissolve into a valuable insight. Tug on the word "you" and the statement begins to … [Read more...]
