I have some pet peeves, things that send me up a wall, rub me the wrong way, turn my crank and tan my hide - like over-used sayings and cliches, often regurgitated without a second thought. An example? How about: "It is better to give than to receive." I am aware of the origins of this concept and the power it has held over people, but I just don't happen to believe it is truth. It has always felt like misdirection promoted by somebody with an agenda, or passed along in a way that … [Read more...]
Generating Stillness Amidst Chaos
As I write this I feel like I am standing in a doorway, swaying back and forth between the old habitual sensations and a new clarity that is so clear I don't even know it is there. There is the violence and chaos, but there is also this stillness. The stillness is so pristine that if my antenna is listening to the outer chaos I would easily trample upon it, clueless to its existence. This new clarity makes forward motion available to me, as long as I notice and release the patterns of emotions … [Read more...]
Stepping Into Creation…and Away from Fear
I've been thinking about fear. It's everywhere. I turn on the TV news and hear about lack of money, the financial systems coming apart, and people behaving badly. My junk mail has an ominous tone in it, assuming that someone must get elected, or must not get elected, in order to save our schools or lifestyle or community. When I create or make a choice out of fear, I am giving myself no love. By choosing or moving while I'm in fear, I will withdraw and contract. That choice will be a choice … [Read more...]
Creative Visualization
An excerpt from the 30th Anniversary edition of her classic work Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Life Creative Visualization is the technique of using your imagination to create what you want in your life. Healing the Rift
"Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality" - Carl Sagan Summer was in its glory in the Central Valley of California. Leo Kim, who would grow up to become a biochemist and work to find ways to stimulate the body's own defense system to fight cancer, was only a young boy, a Cub Scout. His best friend, Stanley, was planning to take a ride with his uncle, a crop duster, and Leo was invited. His parents said no, that it was too dangerous. … [Read more...]
The Lake Harriet Vortex

Sitting still under an imposing dome, I am clearly moved. Going within, I see the door open and I am welcomed with … [Read more...]
Understanding the Vortex

In 1983, I began to learn about and work with healing the subtle energy fields of the human body. Within my training I learned that the vortices (chakras or energy centers) of the body can be blocked and nearly closed, overextended, distorted, or contain holes and leaks from unhealed injury. Energy meridians could be cut and frayed from past trauma and subsequently the flow of energy to certain organs or limbs would be impaired. I also discovered pockets of pain, unreleased grief, fear, … [Read more...]
Ron Mangravite transmits healing energy

Sometime during his 30s, Ron Mangravite attended a party where the conversation centered around a topic called bioenergetics. As he listened, he felt a familiarity with the concept, though he'd not heard it before, and found himself saying "1 can do that." So they all formed a circle, holding hands. To everyone's surprise, some people began to fall over when he did "that." Though he'd had an unusual childhood, marked with serious illness, Ron had, up to that point, lived a fairly conventional … [Read more...]
