The sun is our gift in winter, when nearly always we are insulated by a
dark blanket of clouds. Its radiance transforms our landscape.
Snowflakes float in air as if particles of crystalline fairy dust.
Naked tree branches contrast starkly against sky of azure blue.
Miniature diamonds sparkle atop the snow-covered ground.
All we have to do is step out from our enclosures.
Bright light streams through closed eyelids, to where it so desperately is needed.
All this waits to nourish our souls…
