Copenhagen Revisited

featured_peterson

I am a pianist/vocalist/songwriter, with the heart of a gypsy, who has traveled many places to play my music. A recent trip to “Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen” Denmark reminded me, with great clarity, of the young woman I was when I first experienced this fabulous city in 1984. I was a single mom and had been offered a job at the Sheraton Copenhagen to play piano in their lounge for three months. At the time, my kids were young and I, being the adventurer I am, decided to just “go for … [Read more...]

Toxic Baby Bottles a Concern, though No Link is Certain

Dear EarthTalk: Is it true that some baby bottles contain chemicals that can cause health problems for babies? If so, how can I find alternatives that are safer? - Amy Gorman, Berkeley, CA No links connecting specific human illnesses to chemicals oozing out of baby bottles have been proven definitively. Nonetheless, many parents are heeding the call of scientists to switch to products with less risk. A 2008 report by American and Canadian environmental researchers entitled "Baby's Toxic … [Read more...]

Preparing for the Coming Energy Shifts

It's no secret that changes are upon us during these transitional ascension times. The Group informed us of one of these changes in the July "Beacons of Light – Reminders from Home." They told us we are entering a time of enhanced sexual energy. Let's take a look at how this is playing out in our lives. It has been said that the "light" energy on the other side of the veil feels very much like what we perceive as "sexual energy." Our physical bodies are presently beginning to carry a huge … [Read more...]

Settling Back Down into Ease

The sense of urgency and fear that many have felt in the past few months can be talked about in several ways. I would say that Gaia, the soul who has taken on the form of the Earth, has been moving into a higher dimension of energy more closely related to emotions. Our physical bodies rely on her physical form, the Earth, for grounding. Therefore we have felt this same uplifting process. In some ways it is thrilling, and there have been moments of expansion and ecstasy. But it has also been … [Read more...]

Leadership Today: Acting with Clear Intent

"Prediction is difficult, especially about the future…" - Yogi Berra With all of the surprises in the news these days, financial and otherwise, one thing is increasingly clear. Yogi Berra was right. Prediction is difficult. In the midst of the anxiety surrounding us, it is tempting to retreat into a particular pattern or routine. It is comforting to know that we can count on something. We find ourselves hungry for a plan - anything that can simplify our task as leaders and provide some … [Read more...]

In Memorial – Diana Jean Gross

Diana Jean Gross of Orono, MN, a highly skilled acupuncturist and Oriental medicine practitioner who served the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis for more than 20 years, passed on peacefully, April 19. One friend wrote: "She provided strong leadership for the Northern School of Chinese Medicine and to the acupuncture community in the days before people believed in us." Diana was loved and respected by her family, friends, colleagues, and patients throughout her long and successful career. Diana … [Read more...]

Shamanic Healing Through Soul Retrieval

Soul retrieval – a contemporary therapeutic practice rooted in the 50,000 year old tradition of shamanism - is attracting significant attention in the modern West. Shamans believe that we are all born with an amount of energy or power, which is enough to sustain us through life. But we can become attached to events or relationships with others (such as ex-lovers) and can give our energy away. Once this energy leaves, it creates a ‘hole’ in our energy field which other energy can enter, … [Read more...]

You’re as young as you feel…and as old as you think!

People like to complain about getting older. But I consider now an excellent time to be middle-aged. Not only is 50 the new 30 (if you eat right, get plenty of exercise, sleep enough, and don't smoke), but there are also advantages to bringing up the rear of the baby-boom generation - especially in this technologically advanced and globally interconnected age. Those of us pushing 50 now were barely 10 years old in 1968, when the Beatles went to India to meditate with the Maharishi. We grew up … [Read more...]

In The Prison of Your Mind

This is a sincere invitation that may well be the most relevant you will ever receive. It involves forever walking out of the prison of your own mind, your thoughts and your emotions - your eternal jailors. This is the very familiar and yet, real, prison in which you have lived for all of your life, and it is all you have ever known. We invite you to simply leave it all behind. This prison is a by-product of the story you continue to tell yourself and others about who you are and who you want … [Read more...]

Killing Weeds and More

Dear Editor, I have been having much trouble with chemical poisoning of the yards where I live, over the last 15 years. I currently live in a condominium where they spray chemicals to make the weeds die. As many people are aware of this is detrimental to our animals, selves and the whole system. I have already tried to be on the association to educate them on the effects of the toxins, no one wants to hear it, they are afraid to upset "the way it has always been." Last year I physically … [Read more...]

Participate in the Life You Create

I find it hard to believe that two decades have passed since I first read Seth Speaks, the channeled work of Jane Roberts, and since I read Barbara Marciniak's Bringers of the Dawn. It's been more than one decade since I first heard Lee Carroll, channel for Kryon, live in an Indianapolis event. I read and listened to a lot of channeled work back then, a younger me who buoyed his natural optimism with confirmations that there is more to our three-dimensional form than we can possibly imagine, and … [Read more...]

Gemini, The Twins

Light and dark, happy and sad, male and female, the astrological twins are depicted as opposites joined together. Although they are signified by symbol of the twins, it is not identical twins they represent, rather the coming together of opposites. This is a sign of paradox, multiplicity, and sometimes duplicity. These people don't mean to deceive; they just change their minds. Gemini, a mutable air sign, fuses changeability with the life of ideas. Variety, change, curiosity, and physical and … [Read more...]
