Part 2: Becoming a modern Shaman – An interview with Shaman Christina Pratt

Last of a two-part interview"I do real shamanic healing rituals. I don't do the same ritual over and over, or rituals from other cultures or from the past. I dance, and I get others to dance with abandon from their souls, even if they're paralyzed by self-criticism, haven't moved their hips in public in their entire lives, or are sitting in a wheelchair. They will all leave understanding how, why, and when to use what they learn." - Christina PrattAs a young girl growing up in Oregon, Christina … [Read more...]

District Energy St. Paul: A Major “Green Energy” Service Provider to the St. Paul Community

Americans are hearing the term "renewable energy" more and more as we face escalating fossil fuel prices and fuel supply shortages. On the state level, Governor Tim Pawlenty and his administration are strong proponents of reliable, low-cost and environmentally superior energy … [Read more...]

What If You Got Tomorrow’s News Today?

A Renowned Psychic & Remote Viewer Has The Answers What if the uncertain future wasn't so certain? What if you got tomorrow's news today? A futurist forecasts the future and a psychic predicts the future. They both may eventually come to the same conclusion, but they get there differently. Each have a hard time being … [Read more...]

Mindfulness: the art of living with dying

What happens when we die?""We have a medical definition … [Read more...]

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

A few years ago, a good friend of mine suddenly died. At her memorial service we wept, prayed, listened to music, heard about her from friends and relatives, and sang. The song we sang was "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." The words to the song were printed on the program under the heading, "Our Song." As we sang, the words took on an entirely different meaning for me - a meaning far greater than the round usually sung by small children. Here was a group of adults singing it in … [Read more...]

It Wants You, Too

I saw a marvelous billboard advertising the sleek and sexy BMW Z-4 sports car. The ad simply splashed a photo of the shiny car and proclaimed, "It wants you, too."The sign was teaching a crucial metaphysical lesson: The good you seek is seeking you. If you deeply desire a mate with certain characteristics, someone just like that is looking for someone like you. If you have a house to sell, someone is in the market for a house like yours. If you need a job, an employer needs someone … [Read more...]

Spirited Medicine…green medicine and jungle magic

I'm a pharmacist who has worked in the world of conventional Western medicine for more than 30 years; and also a shaman who has apprenticed in the world of "non-rational" healing for more than a dozen years. I stand with my feet firmly planted in two very different worlds. To get to this place has been a long, exciting and mysterious journey. Born and raised in the resort town of Forest Lake, Minn., I graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, and through a series … [Read more...]
